Kelvin Maye, 51, of Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away at home on Monday, February 4, 2019. Born on December 8, 1967, he is predeceased by his mother, Lola Maye, of Alabama, and father, Maurice E. Guindon, of Springfield. Kelvin attended Technical and Putnam High Schools. He was employed through various temp agencies and held several positions. Kelvin loved to laugh and crack jokes. He was known to travel through the city with his youngest daughter, Lola, close at hand. Whether visiting the local library, attending the movies, or shopping in the local stores, Kelvin kept her near. He was family oriented, always the first to ask about holiday gatherings. He loved to eat soul food. His favorite dish was black- eyed peas with ham hocks. Kelvin is survived by his three children: Nataliz Rosario, Jeremy Claudio, and Lola Maye of Springfield. A sibling of six, he leaves behind three sisters: Pamela May, Ann Coleman, and Tasha Guindon, and two brothers: Rodney Maye, Sr., and Seth Guindon. He also leaves to cherish his memory an uncle and aunt, James and Jane Maye, of Springfield, and five grandchildren: Janiah Rosario, Ja’von, Rosario, Amir Rosario, A’mya Claudio, and Jeremiah Claudio, all of Springfield. Services will be held at St. John’s Congregational Church, 45 Hancock Street, Springfield,
Massachusetts, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019. The interment to follow
at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, Massachusetts.
